  • The mysterious, 360-metre long National Park Gallery information tunnel is the access route to the National Park Gallery viewing platform. While walking through the middle of the mountain on the gently sloping trail, you will feel the mountain's heartbeat.

Six illuminated alcoves along the tunnel house interesting information stations. Here, you will learn about the Hohe Tauern mountain range, its creation and natural treasures, but also how carefully and well devised the cable car technology is in this mountain region. Display boards and animations illustrate the wonders of the Hohe Tauern National Park and provide useful information about high-altitude natural phenomena.

At the end of the tunnel, you will re-emerge from inside the mountain and walk on to the National Park Gallery viewing platform. The view from the two observation decks here at over 3,000 metres above sea level seems to be unlimited. Austria's highest peaks are almost close enough to touch: The glaciated flanks of the three-thousand metre high peaks in the Hohe Tauern National Park, the rugged cirques of the stone sea, the grassy slopes of the Kitzbühel Alps, the Watzmann, the Wilde Kaiser or the Dachstein to name just a few of the highest. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier and Zell Basin with its deep blue sparkling lake stretch out underneath the platforms.
