  • The landscape surrounding sunny Virgen has many exciting stories to tell. There are stories of people who take advantage of the valley fringed by mighty mountains and live here. The permanent exhibition in the centre of Virgen relays these impressions and shows the distinctive features from the past to the present.

The purpose of the exhibition is to examine the question of who the people are that created the valuable Virgen cultural landscape stretching from the valley up to the pastures over thousands of years and continue to maintain it to this day. Seven characters from Virgen talk about the ways of life during long periods of time from the colonisation of the valley right up to the present day. Selected showpieces and documents are concrete witnesses of the time. And those of you amazed by the large-format landscape images and fancying a hike will find tips for hiking trips to the most interesting places in the landscape of the Virgental (Virgen valley) in terms of natural and cultural history. An astounding excursion through the natural and cultivated landscape to see friendly people who have understood how to retain both traditional and modern methods.
