Snowshoe trekking
to the ibex




    • You will meet up with the national park ranger at 09:30 at the middle station of the Grossglockner Cable Car at the tunnel railway entrance. You will obtain your rental equipment (snowshoes, poles) here. Then take the tunnel railway to the Fleiß valley (Großes Fleißtal). During the guided snowshoe trek you will reach the immensely impressive Fleiß valley with wintering grounds for ibex and observe the wildlife that are spending the harsh winter in the middle of steep cliff using powerful binoculars. At the end, you will return to the starting point with possibilities for refreshments in the skiing area.

      Special feature:
      This offers the unique opportunity to see ibex in their wintering grounds.

       

      Important information:
      Moderately difficult snowshoe trek in high Alpine terrain.
      For children aged 10 and above.
      Incl, rental equipment (snowshoes, poles)
      Equipment required: sturdy footwear, warm waterproof clothing, rucksack with hot drink and snack are recommended; dogs on leads are permitted

    • Centre of Heiligenblut (take the Schareck cable car to the middle station or by car on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road to the middle station – meeting point at the tunnel railway entrance).

      Arrival by public transport possible (bus) to the centre of Heiligenblut.
