Nationalpark Hohe Tauern

Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour
+ guided tour through the NP Gallery

  • How is glacier ice formed? Where do the native eagles nest? What purpose do protection forests have? These questions and many more about the Hohe Tauern National Park will be answered during this winter discovery tour with a national park ranger.

The tour will take you from the valley directly to the village of Kaprun via the new 3K K-onnection to the TOP OF SALZBURG at over 3,000 metres into the world of glaciers. An experience for the whole family with cable car rides, easy hikes and guided tours through the National Park Gallery.

During the 3K K-onnection journey, we will take the eagle's perspective and drift comfortably through four climate zones, climbing 2,261 metres in altitude. Two EXPLORER gondolas will provide us with a gigantic 360-degree view up to Austria's highest mountain. After two hours, we reach our destination, TOP OF SALZBURG*, at 3,029 metres. During the guided tour through the National Park Gallery, a 360-metre-long information tunnel, we will learn everything about natural high-alpine phenomena first-hand (ranger). Once our last open question has been answered at the end of the tour, we will be able to take in the panoramic view from the "National Park Gallery" viewing platform guaranteed to leave a knowing smile on our faces.

Tip: A visit to Gipfelwelt 3000 with Cinema 3000 is worthwhile at the TOP OF SALZBURG. For all hungry explorers, a meal at the summit restaurant, Salzburg's highest restaurant at 3,029 m, is just the thing to round off the tour.
