The National Park Worlds inspire visitors to explore the fascinating nature of the Hohe Tauern for themselves. They also offer the opportunity to journey with all senses to places, eras, and realms that would otherwise remain inaccessible to most people.
In the “Glacier World,” a 6,000-year-old piece of stone pine wood provides insight into the condition of the Pasterze Glacier during the Neolithic period. A replica of a marine dinosaur in the “Peaks from the Seabed” exhibit shows that 150 million years ago, a tropical sea covered the area now known as the Hohe Tauern. The “Water Realm” highlights the region's abundant water resources, with 500 mountain lakes, 800 moors, and numerous streams – an oversized room installation vividly illustrates the journey of a single drop of water.
The exhibition offers insights into the unique animal and plant life of the Hohe Tauern National Park, regardless of the weather. It also serves as the perfect gentle introduction before setting out on your own outdoor adventures to explore the national park valleys in their natural state.
