Nationalpark Hohe Tauern

BIG FIVE - Wildlife spotting

Wildlife watching safari

  • Information:

From the newly construction Glocknerwinkel car park, we will start hiking along the summer path towards Lucknerhütte or Glorerhütte. Following the paths, we will be able to watch the impressive ibex and chamois in their natural habitat on the steep slopes of the Ködnitztal (Ködnitz valley).

Does a marmot really hibernate all winter? Why don't golden eagles and bearded vultures go south? Together with a national park ranger, who will have a spotting scope, you will be able to watch animals up close in their natural habitat.
