Trail description:
The short Zopenitztal (Zopenitz valley) opens up with an estimated 250 metre escarpment into the Mölltal (Möll valley). Here, the water of the Zopenitzbach (Zopenitz river) cascades over a rugged serpentinite rock face 120 metres into the depths. The waterfall takes its name from the tale about a maiden (German: Jungfrau) who while fleeing from an ardent hunter leaps from the rock face in her distress. Carried by angels, she is supposed to have survived the leap.
After 30 minutes walk, you will be able to see the rock pulpit at the foot of the waterfall with its two cascades and, with some luck, a magnificent rainbow too.
