To make the research activities of the National Park internationally visible, the site "LTER Hohe Tauern National Park" was implemented. This documentation process was carried out through the DEIMS-SDR platform and was completed in 2024 with accreditation as a "regular site." It can be accessed HERE.
The importance of connecting to international research networks such as eLTER (Integrated European Long-Term Ecosystem, Critical Zone and Socio-Ecological Research) was highlighted in 2019 through a statement of interest by the National Park Directorate. Since then, the National Park has regularly participated in meetings of the national association (LTER-Austria) as well as in consultations with site coordinators in the eLTER Environment Task Force (ETF). The goal is to contribute to the Europe-wide coordinated research infrastructure in the field of systems research and actively help shape it.
