  • They are impressive, mystical, and unique: The Krimml Waterfalls in the Salzburger Pinzgau region, with a total drop of 380 meters across three cascades, offer an overwhelming experience. As the fifth-highest waterfalls in the world, they provide a stunning natural spectacle and countless photographic opportunities.

    A dedicated hiking trail takes visitors up close to this spectacle of water and light, framed by the magnificent backdrop of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

    • Roaring waters in various forms: Breathtaking gorge landscapes, flora featuring 327 different moss species, diverse birdlife, and wetland vegetation.
    • Visitors who climb the entire waterfall trail can continue their hike into the Krimmler Achental, a high alpine valley with lush alpine meadows and meandering rivers.

    Best time to visit:

    Capture fascinating light and water effects throughout the day (especially from morning to early afternoon in sunlight).
    The waterfalls carry the most water in late June and July.
